We will soon be opening voting for various end of season awards. One award that has been a season in the making is the Wigan Rugby Blog Player of the Season Award. This award takes into account the voting by readers on Facebook after each game for the Man of the Match awards.

With Wigan facing the real prospect of only having one game left this season, the top of the table currently looks like:

Player Points
1 Morgan Escare 29
2 Liam Marshall 27
3 George Williams 22
4 Oliver Gildart 19
5 John Bateman 19

Despite being out for most of the season, Morgan Escare is amazingly still top of the voting. His early season form saw him collect five man of the match awards and a player of the month award for March.

A big performance from Liam Marshall against Wakefield could see him overtake Escare in the voting, while George Williams would probably need a Grand Final appearance and three man of the match awards in a row to take the inaugural Wigan Rugby Blog Player of the Season Award.
